New Year’s Eve is supposed to be a time of celebration, a reflection on the past year’s successes and failures, and a commitment to the future. However for Agnes Casey, her New Year’s Eve was anything but celebratory. She was invited to attend a soiree at The Suite, a Michelin star-winning restaurant in the heart of downtown Seattle. She was excited because this was the first time that she had been allowed to go out since leaving the hospital three weeks ago.
Agnes Casey works for Shiawase, and has been a lifelong devoted employee. She works in the laundromat of one of Shiawase’s private resorts, where she gets to clean up after the exalted, the lucky, the hard working, the elite of society. After spending more than 50 years cleaning up other people’s messes, the only time that she had to relax in her whole life and give her cares to others for safe-keeping, she ends up with a human tooth in her soup.
That’s right. The Suite served Agnes a bowl of their Winter Squash Soup with a human tooth in it.
“I was astonished!” Agnes was kind enough to give us some details. “At first I thought it was my own, but the implants were all still in place. That was when I realized I was sucking on someone else’s tooth.”
The whole kitchen was shut down in the process of investigating what had happened. Three employees were fired on the spot for not verifying the soup’s integrity before serving it. And that was when the second alarming event took place.
One of the chefs at The Suite, Jesus Garza, was found in possession of a bag with novacoke, glitterstim, and five aerosolized grenades of Neuro-Stun. He had placed the bag in the walk-in freezer, and by his own admission had intended to retrieve the bag after work. There’s no telling what he had in mind for his evening after work. And we might not have ever discovered that he had the bag there if the fuses on the grenades hadn’t triggered.
Gas grenades, like all grenades, have a fuse built into them. However fuses are tempermental, and these decided to detonate during the investigation into the tooth. The entire restaurant was evacuated under the threat of a terrorist attack. Bodyguards on the scene shot Jesus Garza as he attempted to flee with the bag in hand.
As if those incidents weren’t enough, there are unconfirmed rumors that Shiawase’s executive vice president in charge of consumer interaction has gone missing. Takagi Koga was supposed to have been present at the dinner, but documents obtained by KSAF indicate that he never left.

Shiawase has declined to comment, saying that the rumors are baseless and without merit, likely spread by one of their rivals. Shiawase has a lot to lose by the events of this evening. They own the Four Seasons and The Suite restaurant. The Michelin organization has stated they intend to review whether or not head chef Algernon Trottier will be keeping his second Michelin star. Additionally, the International Hotel Register has stated they will be reviewing whether or not the Four Seasons Seattle deserves to keep their three-diamond rating.
